Jon Boyer Side Hit Tailgrab at Blackcomb in 1992
let me tell you about freeriding in the early 90s. In Whistler, it literally meant going really fast and hitting anything that had a decent landing and some things that didn’t. The things that separated the ams from the pros were power and style. You either had them or you didn’t, and Jon Boyer had both in spades. The thing I love about this photo is that it is a moment of true riding. I just raced in front of him and set up and he launched a beautiful air, right beside a mogul field!
