Frozen Larch trees in the Kootenays.
in late January of 2007 I was an an adventure exploring a remote area of Southeastern British Columbia. Our days started in the valley where humidity had created an ice fog that coated surfaces in rime. On the ascent we passed a stand of Larch trees, an evergreen that uniquely looses its needles in the winter. Although the fog had lifted, the larch trees were coated in a thick layer of white. The forest in the background provided a start textural contrast and I made this photo.
